At ASA we perform laser Resurfacing Surgery with an erbium YAG double-pulsed laser to minimize wrinkles and lines on the face. The full face is often treated with additional attention and depth given to the area around the mouth and eyes. Laser surgery involves a specialized beam of light energy, which is absorbed by the skin and surrounding tissues. In laser resurfacing, lines on the face can be significantly improved. This procedure is performed under sedation or with local anesthesia depending on the depth of the peel. Redness may persist for a few days to weeks, but make-up can usually be applied in three to seven days according to your particular treatment and healing.
As with all medical procedures, laser resurfacing has risks. Your physician will discuss the benefits, risks and alternatives with you at the time of your consultation.
